Before and After for Fall

Fall is the best time of year in Glendora!  The leaves are changing colors, Starbucks brings out their red cups, the lights on the trees down town sparkle at night and everyone is in the mood to change their hair color.  For some reason, everyone wants to go darker for Fall but we think you should maybe lighten it up instead.  Now that the sun isn’t as strong as the summer time and our tans our fading away, lets face it we are getting a bit white.  Have no fear because you don’t have to go dark and wash yourself out, instead try adding some warmth and light into your hair to brighten you up a bit.  One of our stylists, David Gex, is responsible for this beautiful before and after transformation!  He did such a lovely job brightening her up with some warm caramel highlights.  So if you’re in the mood to warm up you hair for the cold weather try this look and make your appointment today at The Loft Glendora 🙂

The Loft to Take Part in Charity Event at APU

Support the salon that supports charities.

Stylists from The Loft Hair for Men & Women will be participating in a charity event at the Azusa Pacific University Cougar Dome on Wednesday, February 15 from 10:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The event will benefit childhood cancer research.

In support of finding a cure for childhood cancer, 21 APU students have volunteered to have their heads shaved in the event which is sponsored by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Stylists from The Loft Hair for Men & Women will shave the models. Plan to attend and show your support by having your head shaved or donating to the worthwhile event. So far, the APU students have raised $3,100. Their goal is $10,000.

Here is a rundown of the itinerary:

The event begins at 10:30 p.m.. But doors will open at 10.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation will show a promotional video.

Kelly, a childhood cancer patient will share her story.

The method behind the madness of computer donations will be explained.

The shaving will begin.

A report of total donations will be given.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a childhood cancer charity funding the most promising research to help find cures for kids with cancer. The Foundation raises money for childhood cancer research primarily through head-shaving events.Volunteers, sponsored by family, friends and employers, shave their heads in solidarity with kids who typically lose their hair during cancer treatment. Events have taken place in all 50 US states and 28 countries. Since 2000, St. Baldrick’s Foundation volunteers have organized nearly 4,200 head-shaving events and shaved over 190,500 heads, raising over $118 million for life-saving childhood cancer research.

Elizabeth Olsen

We are loving Elizabeth Olsen!  She is the new “It Girl” in Hollywood right now and yes, you guessed it … Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s baby sister.  Can you see the family resemblance???  But despite her sisters fame and fortune, Elizabeth is really making a name for herself in the acting world.  She has a movie playing now in select theaters called Martha Marcy May Marlene which is an eerie thriller/drama and she also has four other movies coming out in 2012.  I’m very curious to see her in Martha Marcy, could be a good movie to see over the weekend.  She seems like a smart girl who is really down to earth.  Check out this Video of her from a NYLON magazine shoot, she is adorable.

Lakoda Rayne made it to top 17! X Factor USA unveil makeovers

Our beautiful client Dani Knights, now in the singing group Lakoda Rayne, has made it to the LIVE SHOWS!  We are so proud of her and her group, don’t they look amazing in their new look!!!

X Factor USA has just unveiled the top 17 contestants and their new looks.  Take a look at the X Factor website they look amazing!

Dani’s new group she is a part of was formed by the judges.  They all came into the competition as solo artists and a couple of weeks before they were meant to sing at the judges houses they were thrown into a group.  Dani told us that at first they were all very nervous because they had just met each other and didn’t know how they were all going to practice because they all lived in different states.  Hayley Orrantia (Far Left 1st Pic) is from Texas, Paige Elizabeth (Far Right) is from Baltimore and Cari Fletcher (Left of Paige) is from New Jersey.  Despite the fact that they live in different states the girls got together and they are really making it work.  We can’t wait to see them perform live next week, it will be great to see them evolve into superstars … we know they will.  We will be watching and VOTING for Lakoda Rayne, good luck ladies xx

The hair color for Fall…

     Here at The Loft we are in love with Drew Barrymore and Florence Welch’s Red hair color for fall.  Drew is featured on Neiman Marcus’s new ad campaign, The Art of Fashion, and she looks absolutely gorgeous in her new doo.  This is a great color for fall and winter.  Florence, the lead singer of Florence and the Machine, has always rocked her beautiful red hair color.  She is coming out with a new album soon and we love her music video for Shake It Out, her new single. 

     If you are already a red-head brighten it up with a different shade of red or if you are blonde and want a new look, go for a warm copper tone.  It’s a fun color that you can dress up or down and it will make your eyes pop, especially if they are green!

The X Factor USA : Dani Knights

The Loft For Hair is so so proud of our amazing client and beautiful friend Dani Knights for making it onto The X Factor USA!!!  Dani is such a beautiful person inside out we just know America is going to fall in love with her.  She came all the way from South Africa at the age of 13 to pursue her dreams here and now they are coming true!  Watch the video above to watch her sing Desperado by the Eagles with her group during the first round of bootcamp.  We will be watching every Wednesday and Thursday nights at 8pm.  We can’t wait to see how far she will make it through the competition.  This is your moment to shine girl, we love you and wish you the best of luck 🙂
